DEP’s Bureau of Environmental Cleanup and Brownfields is investigating a groundwater plume located in North Centre Township, Columbia County, in accordance with Hazardous Sites Cleanup Act (HSCA).www.pa.gov
The current North Centre Township investigation began in 2024 in response to sampling data from public water supply wells collected for DEP’s Safe Drinking Water Program in 2023. This sampling was conducted as required by Pennsylvania’s regulations, establishing a maximum contaminant level (MCL) for PFAS. The results show that groundwater in the vicinity of Ridge Road is contaminated with PFAS chemicals. “DEP Website”
